The shop for delicious malasada donuts and breads
We provide a large variety of breads including malasada donuts, croissants, muffins, baguettes, etc. Our products are all handmade. Even after a while, after we have cooked them, they do not turn as greasy because we don’t use salad oil but a special palm oil instead. We fry in a special way that makes the dough soft but when you eat them you can feel that the texture is very nice and is similar to a “mochi”. We have the classic plain dough, strawberry, sweet potato and also a rich variety of seasonal flavors. For only an extra 30 yen you can choose to have a filling of either chocolate or custard cream. We also have a popular Rusk using malasada dough.
Lined up next to the donuts we have chip butties and sweet breads. Everything is so delicious, making it difficult to decide what to buy. We have an eat-in space where you can enjoy our pastries with coffee or tea.
Enjoy them either as a snack or for brunch. The best malasada donuts are in the Mermaid Bakery.
We are on the street entering from Deigo Street in Futenma. You can find us by looking for the orange and yellow awning mark.
We renovated an old house that was rented for foreigners and we made it into a nice, bright, eat-in space where you can relax and enjoy our products.
For only an extra 30 yen you can order to have a cream filling put inside.
The malasada and brunch breads are ready from the oven at 9:00 am, the plain bread at 11:30 am and again more malasada at 2:00 pm.
